We’re thrilled to announce that Game Roost has been selected to host the Gundam Card Game NewType Challenge Event, an exclusive tournament available at select stores worldwide. Auckland Gundam TCG fans can participate in full-scale card battles, compete for unique promo cards, and connect with the growing local Gundam Card Game community.

What is the New Type Challenge?

The New Type Challenge is a full-scale Gundam Card Game event designed for intermediate to advanced players who want to test their skills and experience competitive play in a structured format.

• Date: Saturday. 06 September 2025. 3:30pm

• Location:  Game Roost – North Shore, Auckland

• Capacity: 32 players

• Registration: Maximum capacity has already reached on Bandai TCG+, but keep an eye out — cancellations may happen and you might still be able to join!

Where to play Gundam Card Game in Auckland?

If you miss out on this New Type Challenge, don’t worry! We run Store Tournament Events twice every week – Tuesdays at 6:30pm and Saturdays at 3:30pm. These are a great way to continue playing, improving your skills, and helping grow the Gundam TCG community right here at Game Roost.

 

Growing Gundam TCG Community in NZ

We’re not only excited about this event, but also the growing Gundam Card Game community in New Zealand. The First Combat Event will be happening the week before, on 31st August at Aotea Square, Auckland, and I’m excited to be joining that too. It’s fantastic to see so many players getting involved and building the community, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone to the NewType Challenge at Game Roost!
