Kamikaze Bowl III - Blood Bowl 7s 1-Day Tournament
What a beautiful and great turnout we had for KAMIKAZE III - Blood Bowl 7s 1-day Tournament held on 2nd March 2025!
What is KAMIKAZE?
Whether you're a seasoned coach or new to the game, Kamikaze Bowl guarantees a heart pounding, nail biting, full-day Blood Bowl 7s extravaganza! In the true spirit of Sevens, this one-day event is a no-frills Blood Bowl experience. As such, it is an ideal stepping stone to give this gem of a game a try if you’re new to the scene, and for those among you with plenty of prior glory to test yourself with a more rag-tag group of players.
In cooperation with Auckland Blood Bowl Federation (known as ABBF), this Blood Bowl Tournament is part of the NZ Blood Bowl Sevens Circuit and is an NAF Certified event, which means NAF members can join and get their NAF ranking up!
The Kamikaze Bowl is scheduled to run three times in a year at Game Roost, and with the help of Tourplay (a specialized online platform and competition manager designed for organizing and managing leagues and tournaments in Blood Bowl), registering and building your teams has never been easier!
This Blood Bowl tournament is open to all ages and skill levels, with our youngest coach being 8 years old! We’re grateful that with each succeeding Kamikaze Bowl, our number of participating coaches steadily grows. We started off with 10 coaches on our first Kamikaze tournament, 18 on the 2nd, and 22 coaches on the most recent one!
Game Roost aims to be the hub for Blood Bowl on the North Shore (and beyond) and bring Blood Bowl Tournaments to communities in Rosedale, Albany, East Coast Bays, Glenfield, Takapuna, Birkenhead, Silverdale, Dairy Flat and the wider areas! We’re always elated when coaches as far as Hamilton or Tauranga come to the tournament!
Kamikaze Bowl uses Swiss Pairings, Swiss SoS, Resurrection, no SPP advancement, exhibition tables used and no star players are allowed.

KAMIKAZE III – Blood Bowl 7s 1-day tournament HIGHLIGHTS
At the referee’s whistle, 22 teams took to the pitch, as chaos and mayhem ensued!
The
Wellington Runners-Up, Northcrest Norse and Ladies Knights went out the gate roaring and had at least two more touchdowns than their opponents. A bloody good start for those teams in Round 1.
Wood Elf team, Darnassus Druids, continued on the trend in Round 2 and scored a devastating 4 TDs (and 2 Casualties) to Bread’s poor Gnomes, and Ladies Knights getting a little taste of their own medicine as previous Kamikaze champion, Old Sox, scored 2 against the Feisty Amazons. Dwarf team Electric Bugaloo couldn’t seem to shake off their earlier loss and bad luck as their opponent, Otahuhu Hooligans advance with their first win with 2 TD.
Round 3 had Steady’s Shambling Undead do a grave turning spectacular round as they scored 2-0 against TheMightyQuinn’s Fling Nation Halflings. It was Bats vs Rats once more as Globetard’s Vampires matched with Ross’s Skaven, the Dylan’s Dipsticks. In the end, the bats showed that their extra ‘wings’ does the trick! The Golden Griffins outdodged another Skaven Team, The Furry Fumblers, while The Electric Bugaloos finally shook off their bad luck and had their redemption this round.
For our final round, Mattwearswolves with his Norsecan Wearwolves and Rammit with his Northcrest Norse went head-to-head for our top 2, both being undefeated and had 3 wins each. At the final whistle, Rammit’s Norse squeezed a TD against Matt’s tough defence to secure the Kamikaze Bowl III Trophy!
Humongous Congratulations to Rammit and his Northcrest Norse for winning the Kamikaze III - Blood Bowl 7s Tournament with an impressive 4 wins, 6 touchdowns, & 4 casualties! Hot at his heels, Tobes and his Talabheim Thunderbolts had 3 wins and a loss, but made 7 touchdowns and 7 casualties. Rounding up the TOP 3, Mattwearwolves with his Norsecan Wearwolves had a spectacular 3 wins and 1 loss, but made the most casualties (and none made to him!), earning him 'The Beast' Award!
The Tier 1's might have secured the podium, but the top 10 was dominated by the Tier 2's, having 5 teams on there, and a wonderful performance by the Otahuhu Hooligans, a T3 Goblin team at the 9th spot.
As Champion, Rammit and his Northcrest Norse have earned themselves a place on our Bushido Wall, and a custom, personalized 7s pitch!
