The One Piece trading card game is a strategy card game by Bandai. You pick a Leader—your captain—build a 50-card deck in their colours, and battle your opponent by attacking with characters and using events to gain the upper hand. Each turn, you add DON!! cards to your resource pool (think of it as your crew’s energy), then spend them to play characters, trigger abilities, or boost your attack.

The goal is to knock your opponent’s Life cards down to zero and land one final blow. And the twist? Every time you take damage, you draw a Life card into your hand—getting hit actually gives you more options!

I'm new to One Piece TCG. Where do I start?

Getting started with One Piece is easy—grab a Starter Deck! They come with a ready-to-play 61-card deck (including your Leader and 10 DON!! cards), so you can shuffle up and battle straight out of the box.

Once you’ve played a few games and want to start customising, a One Piece booster box and singles are the fastest way to slot in the exact cards your deck needs. And if you want to learn in person, our staff and regulars are happy to walk you through a game!

Should I buy a booster box or individual packs?

It depends on what you’re after. Booster boxes give you 24 packs in one hit, which is the best way to pull a spread of cards across a set, including your best shot at Super Rares, Secret Rares, and the occasional Manga Rare or Treasure Rare.

Individual packs are great if you want to dip your toes into a new set without going all in, or if you just want that quick hit of pack-opening dopamine. For players who know exactly which cards they need, we offer One Piece singles on our Fetch TCG store.

Does your store support events or tournaments for One Piece TCG?

We love to run events, especially for One Piece TCG in Auckland! Game Roost hosts One Piece TCG Hobby Days every Thursday at 6:30 pm and Saturday at 1:00 pm. Keep an eye on our events page for the latest schedule, including casual play nights and competitive tournaments.
